The Candy Cane

I wonder if Jesus planned the candy cane He knew.
That you and I would eat Christmas candy through and through
We buy it in all shapes and sizes and use it everywhere.
In Santa's packs on reindeer backs and never give a care.

But Jesus made it special and so many just can't see
The meaning of the candy cane means life for you and me.
The shape is of a shepherd's crook and we are all His sheep.
The stripes He bore upon the cross keep us from wroth and grief.

The red is for the saviour's blood He shed upon that tree.
The white means Jesus precious life perfect and purity.
The candy cane tastes sweet as honey, a favourite of all
And makes us want to pass it on to everyone who calls.

And so, my friend, this season is drawing very near
So pass along this candy cane but let everybody hear
The story of our savior and His sweet love for us all
And how He proved that love by dying upon that cross.

So please accept this truth I have here in my hand
And you become part of God's own perfect plan.
