James FamilyI had made contact with them about 10 years ago accidently while looking into taxes on property I own in the area...it turned out, one of my cousins worked at the tax assessors office and passed my information onto my Aunt Peggy who proceeded to contact me and encourage me to come visit...I never could find the time nor money but through my truck driving job I got a load that was delivering in Centralia, Illinois, 11 November 2010 and took the opportuity to contact them for a get together in which I learned so much about my mother who died when I was 2 years old... I met my Uncle George Owen, who seems to be quite the recognizable fellow in town...it seemed everyone in town knew who he was...of course he resembles Dr Robert Schueller, the famous minister...but to me he looked a little like the former popcorn king Orville Reddenbacher. LOL His wife is my Aunt Genny and she is my mothers older sister. Genny and George used to take care of my mother when they were younger, so my Aunt Genny and Uncle George were her "mom and dad" so to speak... Next up was Uncle Dwight and Aunt Peggy, in which Dwight is my mother's younger brother..I have heard some of the stories of their times growing up, one in particular of how my mother was the "Queen of Centralia" (being Home Coming Queen) and when my Aunt Peggy who was in admiration of my mother for her accomplishments, met my Uncle Dwight, and he informed her that my mother was his sister, she was stunned in disbelief that a woman of such regality in town could have a brother like Dwight....I guess my Uncle Dwight was alot like me in his younger days :) To be continued... Aunt Genny and James  Aunty Genny, James and Uncle Owen  Aunt Genny, James and Uncle Dwight  My Mom's little brother Dwight West and his wife Peggy My father has always been like Superman to me, basically my hero.. so it was hard for me when I was younger to come to grip with things like health issues he might have because I saw him as virtually indestructible...Now he is more like the Six Million Dollar man...has a few artificial parts, but like a Timex , he takes a licking and keeps on ticking. I would love nothing more than to spend more time with both sides of the family as time is so short and we do not get any younger James  James Father, Dr Edward Shaver Jr, James and stepmom, Beverly Shaver   The USA makes interaction and involvement with our extended family far more difficult due to the vast distances from each other and with only 1 week vacation per year visiting just never came to pass.
